A classically trained pianist, Angell draws his inspiration heavily from the 1950s and 1960s musical and visual spectrum. His music flows like a loving homage to a blend of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Ennio Morricone, John Barry and Burt Bacharach.

Tying all of Angell's music together is the artist's understanding of composition, production, and his firm belief in classic recording techniques and real orchestras, These influences also flavor Angell's chart-topping electro-pop and club music.

Angell has a track record of producing critically-lauded music within a range of genres. His collaborations have been with clients as diverse as Spanish music legend, Charo to Grammy Award winning number 1 vocalist, Thelma Houston, of ("Don't Leave Me This Way" fame.) His skill and attention to detail in regards to film score, songwriting, arranging and record production has made him the go-to man for Directors and Artists alike who want to tranport the viewer and listener into magical worlds through a unique sound.

As a composer for theatre, film, and television worldwide, Angell has become known for his loving references to classic cinema. His work can be heard in major studio releases starring, Robert Redford and Helen Mirren, like The Clearing, indie films such as The Velocity of Gary, starring Salma Hayek and Vincent D'Onofrio or a cutting edge television series like Child of the 70s, or the national touring production of I Love Lucy Live On Stage. He breathes life into every vehicle so rich, you feel as if you are right there in the midst of it.

As a songwriter, Angell composes music and writes lyrics from the characters and the pictures he sees in his mind. These often come from conversations he overhears in his travels, or conversations with friends in many places through the world. He observes and processes and distills until he comes upon the best way to convey the essence of what he has encountered in a melody and a lyric. He then takes this, and with great respect to the history of modern music and the aesthetic of classic film, he creates unique works in a style that is wholly his own.
